Farm to School
Market Umbrella is the core partner for Louisiana in the National Farm to School Network. We work to bring together a community of practice by connecting farm to school practitioners - be they school food providers, school garden instructors, school nutrition authorities, farmers, educators, or anyone in any way involved with farm to school - through a listserv, newsletter and monthly calls featuring guest speakers. Check out http://www.louisianafarmtoschool.org/ for more information and to join in on the triple win of farm to school - supporting Louisiana’s youth, farmers and local economy.
The Crescent City Farmers Market operates weekly year-round in four New Orleans neighborhoods. The CCFM hosts nearly 80 local small farmers, fishers and food producers, and more than 100,000 shoppers annually.
